Ok, so after i bought my fmf muffler off of my buddy ive been riding my 400 alot harder then usual. Now whenever i throttle up there is a lot of white smoke coming out of the muffler. If anybody can help that would be great. thanks

Sure its not bluish white? Bluish white means oil, which means rings/worn cylinder.

Compression test, 100psi minimum. Check the plug make sure its not lean and monitor the oil-change it once and ride a few times. It drops a good bit your def gonna need piston/bore job.

Also did you jet it when you put the pipe on?

I didnt jet. Thats what i think the problem is. and @CJM, i rebuilt it last fall and just started riding it now. Replaced piston, cylinder and new rings so i really hope thats not what it is cuz thats a pain in the ***.

relax, you didn't blow your engine from a slip on and stock jetting, especially with only two days of riding. if you're burning oil, it was probably a long time coming. like CJM said.. do a compression check.

Does it have good power? If so i'd just jet it properly and not worry about the smoke. lol :Thiple facepalm:

I rode mine with stock jetting and a slip on for two years before a rebuild.. You're fine lol

thiple? lol jk
anyhow u dident blow it up but you need to jet it. without it causes a lean condition on your motor and can run hot and hurt the topend

check valve seals. slip on is likely spark arrested and a little restrictive any way and shouldn't create a bad lean condition imo.

Hey guys, thanks for all the replys. I just took my carburater off of my 400 the other day. Thank god i did because my gaslines were rotting away sum how. I didn't order the new jet yet. I have an FMF powercore 4 with no silencer in it so theres alot more air flow. Can anybody tell me what kind of jet i need and what are the proper settings? thanks guys. Appreciate it.
