Trouble with 450r carb

We just put the 450r carb throttle response is awesome btw but i can't get the platic piece that goes underneath the gas tank to fit correctly I did it like zrpilot said with the hoses any suggestions?

I had a similar problem when I installed mine. You have to really mess with it and fudge it in there but it will fit, barely.

Yes that's the heat shield I'm having trouble fitting correctly

Oh I just pulled off the the rubber and trimmed the plastic alittle.

I cut mine. It doesnt really do much anyways.

Thanks guys I did gave to cut part of the back to make it fit and also the gas tank is on the hot start lever and fuel line is in the way to use the hot start but I shudn't need cause of the 52 pilot

Hot start should be plugged with RTV and the hotstart plunger. Remove the choke lever, it will rub thru the fuel line.

FYI i couldn't get mine to start cold with no choke.

I didn't have any issue with the cover fitting, but my bike is beyond a cold hearted pig when it is cold out.
