Hi guys! I just got a 04' with the 426 bbk in it and im pretty confident the previous owner just got the kit and slapped it on, so it needs to be jetted. I need help and advice on jetting it, what jets should I use? It also has a big gun slip on as well, and he drilled quarter sized holes in the airbox lid . Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!!!

42 pilot for starters, 3rd notch on the needle, 2.5 or so turns out the fuel/air screw and depending on your temps and elevation you should be about a 170-180 main jet.

See the jetting faqs in the link in my signature for more info.

The first thing i would do is pull the plug and make sure it does in fact need jetted.

The tip of the plug should be a cardboard brown color.

Anything lighter colored than that is lean and probably has stock jets, which is a 38 Pilot, 148 main.

Pulled the carb today and just as I thought...stock jets  I put a 42 pilot, 170 main, 3rd notch on the needle and 2.5 turns on the air/fuel screw. And boy what a difference it made, I might jump up to a 180 main and I still gotta fine tune the a/f screw a bit but other than that im happy
