Well, the Speed R is finally complete after a lot of help from a lot of good folks. Took it out to El Mirage Dry lake bed on Friday and promptly fried the top end within 10 minutes of testing it. Good thing BDT Motorsports was on the way home! It now sits in Carlos' shop awating a complete engine overhaul top to bottom. Carlos promised that no one will ever beat me again on Oldsmobile Hill.... =) Here are some pics at the lakebed:

No, LED had nothing to do with it. The problem was me not re-jetting after I swapped motors.

Correct! The front brake lines were red, so off they went. I have a new set of silver, but have not yet installed them. This bike without front brakes would be a really bad idea.

Any company that recommends jetting is simply giving you a starting point not a "Use this and you're good to go" advice. It is up to YOU as the rider to fine tune it.

Too many variables involved. Air leak/s, worn out top end, igntion health, wiring harness health, plug type, humidity, temp, altitude, carb, etc etc etc

And to the OP - nice bike.
