my 07 400ex has a 14 tooth front sprocket and 38 tooth rear (i think) and the stock 20" tires. Ive been thinking about dropping down to 19s, any one know how i should change the sprocket setup to keep the same(or better) acceleration and same top speed?

Why bother? All that's going to do is give you lower ground clearance doing that I would think, and if you want it lower go right to 18s. But go down a few on the rear and probably leave the front for that.

If your dropping a size tire in the back you'll be increasing your acceleration, if you want to keep the same gear setup for speed you'll new to go down one or 2 teeth in the back sprocket

Up a tooth front is more speed, down a tooth front is torque. Up a tooth back is torque and down a tooth is speed

For 1 size up in the front its like going up/down 3 inthe back.

Play with the rear first.

for what its worth: your wasting your time with 19" tires.

I was going to ask the same question about 18in tires but i said screw it and got 20in cuz all u gain with 18in is some stibility.

18s are worthless unless you ride the track only. Otherwise they are to small for anywhere else.

I agree that the smaller tires like 19s or 18s would be no good for anything but track....... I personally run 22s and with a 12/38 it has amazing torque. I tried the stock (15/38) and it bogs bad in 1st. I would say a 15/40 or 42? Like others were saying, play with the rear sprocket.

You said 13 to 38 gearing for 99-04 he changed it to 15-38 which is the correct gearing.
