Watched that on Feebay with wishful intent... :)
Boyd Calvert (WI) had a couple LT 500/TRX hybrids back in the early '90's and won a couple of championships ('91&'92 Pro Am).
He lived in the same small town I grew up in (Mount Horeb, WI). I was on cloud nine when I got an opportunity to sit on his bike once. I remember being so impressed when he made the pages of Dirtwheels on his LT500 TRX.
Would love to build a replica.
Keep us posted with this cool project. Thanks for posting!

I would take that pipe off , put the radiator in the stock trx250r location , then find or make a different pipe to work.

more than likely that pipe is exactly what he wants, judging by the looks of it that`s a pretty sought after setup. it was probably designed around that head, a carb, a p&p and that pipe by a mr. turner. looks can definately be deceiving on these little monsters.
any progress on this liverideatv?

I agree keep the the pipe for sure. I'ts pretty rare & key to the history of your bike.
Just my 2 cents....

Pipe is absolutely staying. Lauren at Duncan said that is as good as pipes get for the 500/trx. I am just stumped on that radiator? Any ideas? maybe 2 dirtbike rads? looks UGLY AS IS tho.

i was thinking of two smaller radiators under the pipe one in front of the other. would the one in back still get enough airflow for it to be effective?
