I'm wondering what you guys are using to replace the stock tires. My son has had his 80 for 2 years now and really loves it, but he has worn out the tires.

Also, He weighs about 50lbs, and everytime he jumps, he is bottoming out the bike. Anyone have any recommendations?I found http://midwestmini.com/lt80_hop-ups.htm sells some.

Thanks for the help. I just joined.

Welcome to the forums.
The Works shocks are good.
I seen the screw on spacers for 10 bucks less on ebay.

Kinda glad you responded. Seems you know a ton about these.

When I bought his kfx, probally had 20 hours on it at best. Wasnt a scratch on bottom of the frame.

He has done nothing but gotten better on it. once or twice a year I take him to pa, to Trverton to ride the trails. But most of our riding is on farms.

I'd like to slowly build it up for him, and keep him on it until he is 10-11, then move him to a bigger quad. (raptor 250. something like that)

My question is, has anyone ever documented a full build up of a LT80 or kfx?

I've put the wheel spacers on, and changed the air filter. And a cutoff valve for the fuel. I'd like to slowly as money comes, build him a fun reliable 80.

All suggestions are welcome. I hate buying parts twice.

I just got in a set of rear itp quad cross 18x8x8 and a set of itp holeshot 19x6x10 for the front. Jack builds some very fast and extremely reliable engine packages for not so much $$$$. You cant go wrong and a great guy to deal with. As for your suspension quest, not a whole lot of choices out there. Works are very good. I extended my a arms 5" per side and put a set of fox floats front and rear. Satisfied with the results for the design of the bike.

I took a chance and ordered a pair of Kenda scorpion 20-10-8 for the rear of one of my LT80's. They fit! It's comes close to the stock pipe but doesn't hit. If you run them at 2-3 psi it gives the bike extra suspension; kinda like the old honda trikes (which had NO suspension at all!) Plus they're cheap.
