Im looking to install a Functioning brake light on my 03 400ex, ive ran into the problem of my front master cyl not having the correct mounting holes on the bottom side to install a front brake light switch (as seen in other threads on here).

does anyone know if a 450r front master will fit on a 400ex and will the banjo be the same size?

Thanks

It has the correct holes, I just put a 450r (just happened to be the switch I found on ebay) factory front brake switch on my EX master.

It uses one bolt to mount it.

i read your thread about that and saw the pics you uploaded but for some reason the bottom of my master has no bolt holes on it...i just bought the quad a few months ago so maybe the guy before me switched it out with a diff quad? i dunno

i DEFF stole your banjo bolt idea for the rear master lol

Thats soo odd. Maybe someone did change the master out or filled the holes? That does suck if its the case tho.

Run the wiring like this:
1. Remove the green wire from the brakelight at the harness
2. Take power from battery or such and run to switch
3. Run other wire from switch back to the green wire.
4. Your done.

It has constant power tho, so watch out it might drain your battery if you somehow have the lever held in for awhile. Also it now only works as a brake light, tail light function is of course gone.

thats deff a good idea....just adding a switch into the exsisting circuit. but wouldnt you have to have the headlight switch turned on to operate the brake light function now?

No, that green wire goes to the power source your pulling from the switch.

Goes like this: Power to switch, from switch back to brake light green wire. The other wire can be left, its a ground. The switch is nothing more than an interrupter. Pull the lever, the switch opens and completes the circuit.
