View Full Version : how to remove 450r carb pilot jet

I know that to the change the main jet on the 450r carb u need 6mm socket but how do u remove the pilot jet i am a newbie at trying to do this myself but i am learning

Remove the bottom bowl, remove the little plastic part on the main jet, take a screwdriver and unscrew it. That simple.

Can i ask for your advice on jetting for a 450 carb on my 440.

i have full white brothers, uni filter w/ open box, stage 2 hotcam & 11:1 compression....what jettin would you reccomend


right now its at a 190 / 48...but that was the other guys jetting on his quad

Should be somewhere round a 180/52 pilot 2.5 turns f/a screw.

Thats just a rough guesstimate tho.

If your from central jersey I could look at it for ya. Im in freehold near the jackson border.

thanks ill start at that.

and yeah man that would be SWEET, im going to do it early next week and see how i make out. if i have any problems, questions or just want a second look at it ill let you know

i live in south plainfield so thats only 30min ride

Its not to hard really, hardest part is putting the dang things in there lol.
