How can you tell the differance? Is the er an electric start or is there more of a differance?

Yes, ER is electric start. And at a quick glance, the battery is mounted to the left side of the subframe.

I guess I should have specified. There's no major differences between the two models on the 2006 and later models. There were quite a few updates from the 04/05 models. They are listed in the sticky at the top of this section. In stock form, the 06+ are a bit faster, but the handling is a little better on the 04/05.

Cool thanks. That is what I was wondering. I bought a 2007 Honda 450r last week pretty cheap, and the stem was changed so I have no vin. I only got a bill of sell, so Im trying to find out more about them. I was thinking about reselling it after I replace the battery and repair the radiator. It has electric start.
Sorry for the dumm questions but trying to learn and my Honda dealer isnt to freindly. So its the internet.

the vin is on the part of the frame you bolt the bumper to, not the stem
