Put my new Alba +2 A-arms on today after getting back from a big weekend trail ride, one of the utility bikes with us clocked about 70 miles total. my full flights were so wore out I noticed when taking em off. All the heim joints had a lot of play in em but they still rode fine for me. These new a-arms have zero play anywhere. bought these brand new off ebay for $400 shipped. Only complaint was that the tie rods they sent were too long and I ended up using the ones from the full flights....no biggie. and they are just a hair wider than the full flights too, but not enough to cause any problems in the woods. Im like right at 47 inches at the bottom of the tires.

Thats not wide, especially if youre only have 47.. If you could handle the fullflights in the woods, you can handle those lol. But they look great! look the GTT except for the bottom bend, which are great for the woods also!

Those look awesome! I envy you though, my older brother has just ordered these for our raptor 700 but I am not able to order mine yet:( but soon enough. I may miss the introductory price but I'm sure they will b worth it in the end

Ugh, why cant they make +1's. +2 is too wide for where I ride..dang it.

Theres no way I would fit in some of the places at my spot at 47 inches...well maybe IDK..

I was just taking a close look at these Albas and they seem to be the same design and balljoints as the GTT they look very similar except for the bottom curve design.

Im sooo debating them right now. But ugh the cash to do it isnt here. Shoulda not PC the frame and just bought stuff like this instead lol.

I got till april 1st to make some cash and do it. I wanted gullwing style arms from the get go. My only worry is they will be to wide, but if the rear fits Im sure the front will-if not theres always 4+1 wheels I guess.

yea my wheels are 4:1's. theres a trick to riding in tight woods with wide A-arms. when you have to go through a tight spot with like trees or something on both sides, just get on the gas hard and sit on the back of the seat to suck the front end up....this makes it narrower than just normally riding.

But the best thing I love about these A-arms is that you can run both standard travel or long travel shocks with the adaptor piece. Im gonna keep an eye out for a cheap deal on some long travel shocks now that I have some a-arms that will work with em.

did you ever contact them and ask them to send you the right ones?

hmmm, so it wasnt just mine that the tie rods were too long :huh . No I didnt call or email them or anything, I just used the tie rods from my full flight a-arms. I was gonna have my brother who works at a machine shop fix em for me. I think the correct length that they need to be is around 14 inchs total length.

Not riding today lol. They claim they will ship out Monday and I will have before Thursday

now after i installed the Alba +2 GULLWINGS<a href="http://s1154.photobucket.com/albums/p534/440rdr1/?action=view&amp;current=quad004.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1154.photobucket.com/albums/p534/440rdr1/quad004.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

the install went pretty seamless, aside from the supplied tie-rods beings as long as my roll designs:mad: , i used my friends STOCK 450r tie-rods which mounted right up and worked perfectly. i emailed alba's eBay store at Midnight this past friday and before i even woke up they responded saying they appologize and will send the correct ones out asap on monday :D

here are some more pics, the spray can was put under the front to show the ground clearance which was just what i expected....GREAT

I have no idea what degree I have it at but it's only like 2 threads off the joint side of the ball joint. Sorry dunno if that helps

i was wondering how well these a-arms were holding up after a couple of months.

400man
12-26-2012, 12:22 PM
the a-arms themselves are still holding up fine, with normal paint worn off the bottom the lower arm. but for me the upper bushings worn out pretty quick for being brand new. it seems like the busings are really hard and brittle and get play really easy. I couldnt find any replacement bushings so I bought some off ebay that I thought would fit and and did a little "grinding" to make em work.

That sucks that they wore out allready, I was looking at a set but now I think I'll go with some gtt's.

400man
12-26-2012, 02:21 PM
yea i think thats probably the best deal in the long run. find some that you can get replacement parts for easy. the only thing these alba a-arms have is the adaptor for long travel shocks

Big Red Hammer

Thas true, but the way i see it if im spending 1500 to 1800 on lt shocks another 700 for top of the line lt a-arms is not out of the question.

Looks good man, but I like the style of the FullFlight better. You can buy better heims and ball joints from FullFlight now, they even have sealed ball joints now. My only complaint is how heavy that they are, but the Lifetime warranty makes up for that if you ever somehow bend or break an A-Arm!

CJM
12-31-2012, 04:33 PM
I still wouldnt pay for full flights junk. By the time you add in the better ball joints and bushings you coulda bought some JD arms for the same price.

jman7290
01-01-2013, 06:17 AM
Yeah your right, that's what I said after I bought them and the ball joints and heims went bad so fast. Wished I would of spent the extra $150.00 and got some Lonestars, but it was much cheaper to just buy the better ball joints and heims the second time around than all new Arms. I been real happy with the upgraded ball joints and heims so far.
