View Full Version : DC engine relocation kit or Not

Just wondering how many of you out there use the DC Motorsports engine relocation kit (moves the front of the motor up and the rear down and back) it works good for maintaining a consistant chain tension as the rear suspension moves and it keeps the chain from cutting in to the frame. The down side I have found (on a DRR) is it causes pipe mounting issues and you can't get the CVT cover off without taking off the bolt on nerf bar. I was considering just going back to raised front mounts and a ZTR frame saver. I guess my main question is has anyone had any major chain issues or problems with the ZTR frame saver. I have a DRR 70 with DC Motorsports long travel suspension.

We have a Drr 70 with the DC long travel and lowering kit. After breaking 2 frame savers (first week out on both) we went to the lowering kit.

We had no pipe issues with the Mach 1 pipe we have on it. I can get the CVT cover off without taking off the nerfs ...BUT... I do have to kneel on the outside of the nerf on that side and work the cvt cover out, angle bottom out first and she comes out....it's tight but no problems. I thought I would have to remove the nerf when we first put it on but was able to play with it and have had no problems since.

I use the frame savers but the ztr's suck. They don't last long and they tend to break off when the chain hits them.

i hand made my parts up 5/8 in the front and down 7/8 in the rear
we do not use a tensioner at all and have a 400ex chainslide at front of swinger it works great and chain life is alot longer

DC kit works great! Way better than frame saver.

I have Dc long travel with front mount's raised about 1/2 inch. I also run a ztr chains tensioner on top and on bottom. This allows for the chain to be tight at alltimes, never hits the frame, and in 3 years we have never thrown a chain, or broke a chain. Just an idea works great!
