300EX clutch issues

My 300ex has clutch issues. basically clutch not working. lever very hard to pull in. when i disconnect the cable from lever that goes in to the right side cover. i cant move it unless i use pliers, and even then the clutch doesn't work. any thoughts?

Yup cable. Also check to make sure the clutch lever coming out of the clutch cover isn't rubbing on your header..happend to mine and made the lever extremely hard to pull.
