18" holeshots stock gearing?

Anyone run 18s on there 450r?

hows it ride/handle compared to stock size

i run 18's on the back of my 05 and works great for my riding style and purpose(motocross and supercross styled outdoors). stock gearing with 18's is kinda iffy on long straights as it tends to have short gears but amazing for short bursts of speed or tight turns with very little run-up on a jump so all depends what your intended purpose is

i kinda like the longer gearing just have to get used to it jumps that are 3 rd gear may have to be bumped to 4th or redlined at 3rd

yfm250rider agreed i tend to like longer gearing also but once you adjust to a short gear you never notice it..and oddly jumps that used to be 4th gear i can now hit in third 3/4 to full throttle alot depends on how you ride and jump if your a speed rider the short gear hurts your jumping but if your more a power jumper the stock gearing with 18's is great

So unless im running straight mx only its prob a bad idea. I do alot of pit riding, trails and other stuff.

iv run it in the trails some but just wasnt to my liking..you would hafta try it and see how it feels to you cause every1 has a different style.tho with the stock gearing on 18's you may like it for trails due to it shortening the gear a bit,the 450r has what most consider too tall of gearing for tight trails on stock size rubber
