Will the crf head work on the 04-05 motors?

no it only works on the 06+ trx's

Yes it will but there are some modifications that need to be done. I've done it before and the bike is still out racing to this day.

Here are the things I can think of off the top of my head.

Must drill out the alignment dowels because they are in opposite corners.

The intake must be cut off and rewelded on for proper alignment (probably not a must).

Cam chain galley needs welded towards the front of the bike to close up a gap between the cylinders galley.

Must plug off the thermostat bypass tube down at the waterpump because the CRF doesnt have a thermostat.
