I bought a fw carbon tank cover and can not get it to fit tight on the tank. Is their a trick to this? Cause the only way to get mine to stay on, is I have to tighten the gas cap as good as I can. It also allows gas to come out from the tank too.
Any tips from sombody?
Thanks

Maybe try some double sided tape?

You have a stock tank? Maybe you can find where its hitting and trim it a bit.

When I brought my Maier gas tank cover it had a sticker to buy a gas cap gasket. I will have to look at the sticker to get part number.

But I think the gas cap does not hit the seal. I have a carbon fiber cover as well and it will leak gas as well. I still need to order the gasket.

Thanks for suggestions. I'll probably sand the inside of it to see if that helps get it to fit down better.

I have an aftermarket Clark tank and a FW cover. Mine fits good, but I did have to use 2 rubber gas cap gaskets so that my gas cap wouldn't scratch up the Carbon fiber. I'm not sure if it leaks yet though? I know its a shame, but I haven't gotten to ride my bike yet. I still have a few things to finish up! If you have a stock tank, you may have to take off the rubber mounts on each side of the tank, but I'm not sure. I'd try it both ways and see what works best? Hope this helps!
Thanks Higgy

Ya i have a carbon gas tank cover as well. Not sure if its FW or not.

But because i doesnt let the cap completly seat, it splashes some fuel out.

Anybody else have that problem? Any fixes?
