ok everyone i had the weridest thing happen yesterday. i had raced indoor mx the night before so the next day i fired up the 400 to make sure everything was ok and the clutch was frozen like when i let the lever out it the bike would sit there like it was in netural. but after it started to get warmer it began to work perfectly fine and even after setting outside for a few hours it still worked fine any ideas what happened

Don't know the reason but I would check your oil an maybe even change
it. Sounds like after pulling in the clutch, it stuck until the springs finally pushed out the pressure plate.

Make sure u replace the springs to, sounds like they might be a little worn out.

How cold was it outside when it was stuck like that?

im not sure it got prob below 32 and it was also in the trailor so it could have been colder in there

my grandpa was saying that i might have just had the cable to tight cause i had no freeplay in it so i bleive that also helped cause it

Yea check your cable slack and check the oil if u use a thick oil it takes longer to push all the oil out of those plates, especially when its really cold like that till the oil heats up

yea i do run a thicker oil so that prob it especially with the colder weather
like when i ran 10w 40 the bike would get so hot tht the oil would get so thin it leaked in to the piston and got burnt or somthin like dat and it would leak from the top of the head but when i started to run 20w 50 i never had any of those problems ever again and i even think that it runs cooler
