It fox shocks should work, if the shocks are standard travel, then you will need standard travel a arms. And if they are long travel, then you will need long travel a arms.

Gotta have the shock relocater kit. JB Racing or Kids on quads sell them

2001 660 raptor shock. Thats what I had it works great. You can get 1 for around 100 bucks.

For what your gonna spend in upgrades you can buy a 400ex with axles and arms. just saying. you will get more money for a stock 300 then sinking more into it.

I did one getting used parts from fleebay and made out pretty cheap. I also made my own shock relocator for the front using steel 1" square tubing.
.
I used
400ex front A arms ( bought used for 100.00)
400ex front shocks ( used 40.00)(not the best )
400ex tie rods ( came with a arms)
350x rear swinger axle and shock ( all used about 200.00 new lonestar berring carrier (110.00)
.
In the end I had it 2" wider and 1" longer than stock.
.
In you'r case I would opt for better front shocks than the stock 400 ones.
..
in the back
the 01 warrior rear shock works as well as the 01 raptor.
.
To be sure check length bolt to bolt
and bolt size. Preferably a remote rezi shock. like the ones mentioned above.

Ive never raced mx xc or any pro races. ( I would see what the competition is using to find out your max width.
.
the 400ex arms bolt up with no mods. for the 400ex front shocks you will need the relocater bracket.( i would look for after market 400 ex shocks with the resi like some elka's)
.
for the rear you can use a 350x axle or 250r axle in your stock bearing carrier.
.
lonestar makes a nice longer axle as well.
.
I do know that the +2 width that the 400ex a arms and wider axle add to the quad makes a huge handling difference.
.it makes the quad much harder to get it on 2 wheels when turning . ((a good thing)) and a +1 swing arm will improve your holeshot .
.
as far as the money goes just save your stock parts .so you can convert the 300 back to its origonal stance when your ready to sell it and move up. then sell your upgrade kit to the next guy.
