its time for new rims. Ive decided that beadlocks/race wheels are to expensive. So this is my question. Steel rims front and back run roughly $75.00 for all 4. douglas .125 are around 75 also. the douglas .160 are around 100, and the douglas .190 are around 150. What are the pros and cons of steel? i had planned on getting them powdercoated black to match my quad. Which do u guys reccomend?

it depends on what kind of riding you do
if u race i suggest douglas 190.s
all my friends got em and they ride pretty hard and havnt dented em yet

i suggest .190s anyway

don't buy steel. they are peices of crap. find some used stockers. not only are the stockers better and stronger than most aftermarket rims, you can usually find them for a decent price. plus they are rolled edge which is almost as good as a beadlock.

Go for 190's. Steel rims are heavy and make your uad feel slower and less responsive. 125's arent worth it unless you ride really light. They dent really easy.

STEEL ALUMINUM
-heavy -light
-ugly -pretty
-rust -dont really rust

go with stockers if you can like juggs said. but i would deff go with .190s. i had steel rims on my 300ex.... they didnt bend, they were just really heavy:eek:

Since somebody started a rim thread....

I'm also thinking it's time for some .190's, and I'm definately going to get rolled edge - I'm just not sure if I should go with the ITP's or the Douglas? I think the ITP's are a little cheaper? Which do you guys recommend?

I would chose the stock rims first, then either the ITP or Douglas .190... Which ever is cheaper.

The stock rims happen to be very tough, and they have countersunk lug nut holes!:)

I also would recommend the rolled edge rim. I have seen too many of the nonrolled edges dented and damaged.:(

Good luck!:)

Yeah the Stock rims are pretty tough. I smash mine on big rocks all the time and have never had a problem. If you are gonna buy aftermarket rims definatly go with 190's. As for the Douglas or ITP. I think they both are a good rim. If it were me. I would get the Douglas
