hello new race dad here with lots of questions. my son raced his first season (hair scrambles) last year on a polaris 50 . this year i bought him a new drr 50. id like to get new rear tires but not sure what size is big enough but wont rob to much power????? wow there is alot to learn with these things. appreciate any addvice

Where are you racing xc at? Does the 50 class run same trails as the bigger quads and other youth? We ran the DWT xc's last year they are a 18" rear(closer to 17-17.5) the sno hog 18's are prolly your lightest tire and still give you ground clearance.

upstate ny wynoa series. youth classes do run a different track but the ruts get pretty deep sometimes. is the difference in width 6 or 7 for moto vs trails or is that preference? thx

preference I'd say but since your on a 50 I'd say you'd want the 6" wide tire, we're running a 90 in local series this year so going to try the wider DWT's.

thx! i will go with the 6wide snow hogs and give them a try. i have ordered a frame saver for the quad. i remembered some dads at the track telling me that chain rub can b a big problem. any other problems that u know of that i could avoid?
