Anyone got an idea to mount a fire extinguisher to a 400ex? Gonna be taking a long ride and just trying to cover as many bases as possible. So looking to add a temporary mount for a small fire extinguisher. I thought about the pvc pipe storage compartment some people have mentioned, but I am gonna need to access it quickly if I do end up having to use it.

Any ideas would be great!

dont really wanna carry it in the backpack based on my history (the backflip into the creek bed and broken ribs... dont want a small bomb strapped to my back to land on...) and I am know that the other two are great places, but I am looking for a mount or bracket that you may know of that I am not going to have to permanently drill holes for. I mean, do you think I can just used a couple of worm gear clamps and attach it to the grab bar? Dont want it slipping out while riding either...

I have been known to play with fire... and yes, i have been burned plenty... just a precaution... I will be anywhere from 10-20 miles away from anywhere, so walking out is not really an option... especially when you are in the mountains...

Another thought: should you puncture or drop it, it can become a missile. Not good...

i probably wouldnt carry one "i like fire" but i would mount it on the frame under the plastic (behind the bumberish) area with t bolt clamps and foam wrapped around it

THAT is precisely why I do not want to carry it in a backpack... lol
