On my 03 400ex, how hard should it be to compress the pin on the cam chain tensioner? It's like mine is jammed out, really hard to push the pin in unless I hit it with the palm of my hand, I would think it would move freely right?

Thanks for any advice

It screws in and out and its spring loaded. Take the small screw out on it and put a very small flathead in there and twist. It should compress rather easy and spring back, it doesnt buy a new one.

Thanks man. Everything looks good, it does pull it in when the screw is turned then pops back out. I just don't kno that it is supposed to be that hard to push the pin in. I can't push it unless I hit it, it's like when it's fully extended, it gets caught up on something.

yea u shouldn't be able to push it in easy at all thats why its spring loaded to keep the pressure on the chain

^^ Exactly.. the perpose of the tentioner is so it can only be retracted by turning it with a screw driver as discribed above.
