I was wondering what everyones oppinion is on this. In general, whats the ideal power/rpm gange for most riding? Or in other words the most useful range of a powerband?

You would normally want the following:
MX - top end power
XC/trail riding - low to mid range

Whats 5-6k rpm considered? Mid range?

Many bikes idle around 2k and some race MX motors rev past 12k.

I would consider mid range 5-7k or there abouts.

I put mid around 4, my motors only rev to 8500

Well I was curious because I was debating on whether to get a slip on or full exxhaust for a Raptor 250. I was looking at the difference on the HMF dyno..............http://hmfracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3429

Idk id just do a slip on, i dont think the extra price is worth it

Beast..............yeah I was thinking the same thing. The slip on makes more power low than the full, plus on top makes a good amount more than stock. Full exhaust seems like a more topend or to go with internal mods.
