Jetting or electrical?

Alright i have a 416ex stage 2 cams full hetrick racing exaust k&n filter with no air box lid. So i my quads timing chain was acting up so i took it to my neighbor who use to be a mechanic on quads and bikes. he fixed the problem and when i got it back it would cut out on high rpms. it has a 158 jet in it. I took the carb apart and cleaned it and now it cuts out really bad. My dad messing with quads and trikes his whole life thinks it may be something electrical cutting the motor out becuase it ran fine before. I really need help

oh yeah i put the stage 2 cam in it when he fixed the chain. would this cause the engine to need more gas?

what year 400ex do you have? i have a 2000 with the factory carb, 416, magnum cam, full dmc dual exhaust.

i run a 170 with airbox lid on and k&n

its a 2002 with stage 2 hot cams top end was built by hetrick racing.

Its to lean with a 158, I ran a 170 main for my 416.

Do you like your Hedrick bike? I had them built one of my older race 400s and it turned out to be complete chit lol. And they're full exhaust fell apart. It was junk

yea my valves were adjusted precisley. and dont you mean hetrick racing? we might be talking about 2 diffrent places. but yea its really good

Yeah my fault I ride right up by them and Ive rode with them a few times.. Man are those dudes kawi's fast.. But I didnt like what they did to my 400.. They seem to have come a long way!

yea no doubt i actually bought this bike in oil city up that way. the only thing i dont like is it like to blow the head gasket like once a year.

Yeah I ride up there and live near here. They jetted my bike completely wrong. It's a parts bike now

holy **** yea so i redid my carb and it wasnt right at all. it had a 155 main jet a like 32 pilot and the gas air mix screw was like 1 1/4 turn in? it was way out of wack
