I am rebuilding a buddy's 2002 400ex. He was asking me about putting a stroker crank in it. His rod needs to be replaced so will have it all out anyway. I am wondering how much temp this is going to gain if any along with the cons of it and who makes the best crank for the $. . Its got a stage 3 hotcam, 416 bore, 11.1 comp, big gun CD I, lrd exhaust. Oil cooler and tank are stock. Still has stock Carb but he is wanting to find a 450r Carb sometime soon. Just curious and sorry if this has already been asked.
Shouldnt change temps much, it just has a longer stroke. A thinner bore such as a 440 will be hotter-but if jetted right most find it fine.
Its all about jetting.

Thanks for the reply. Didn't know if we needed to look into the cooling system if we did this or not.
All an EX has is an oil cooler. You can only do 1 of 2 things to make it run cooler:
1. Add a 4" spal puller fan to the oil cooler
2. Bigger oil tank
However the above dont really cool it that much more, maybe 20-25F at best. Proper jetting will keep it cool and running good.
