iPhone problem

So I recently bought an iPhone 4s and it won't play threw my usb on my pioneer cd player, but it will charge. I have a 4th gen touch and it plays fine. Anyone know anyways to fix this>

when you plug it in does it say "device not compatible" on the iphone screen?

No it just shows it charging. It's really weird since it'll play and iPod touch that is based off of it.

Does it work on other cables, like in your friends car or on a docking station radio?

i have this same problem with my iphone 4s with the head unit i have in my jeep patriot...i got the factory 7inch touch screen with nav unit...it has the usb port and is compatible with the iphone 4 and older, but not the 4s...its because the 4s is newer and something about the operating software does not mesh right with head units...i imagine if you bought a new one, pioneer, alpine, or whoever is making them has probably corrected this problem

I'm just wondering if they will release a software update because how the hell are you suppose to know what head unit will work? I can't even find anything on it on Google even.
