Rim color

I have a yellow and black 400ex and am going to spray paint the stock wheels with krylon gloss blue. Does anyone have any pics or of what it will look like? I knew if i painted them black it would lool pretty good but i wanted something that would stand out a little more since you really dont see to many colored wheels other than stock, chrome, or black and blue is my fav color lol. I know these are suzuki colors but it doesnt matter to me. Any insight or thoughts?

itll come off the first time you ride so its pointless

If your gonna do it pc them or else the paint will flake off and look like crap after the first ride

As long as you prep them good and use quality paint you'll be fine. My brothers wheels have lasted for 1 year already and we ride alot of mud. If it scratches throw another coat on no big deal.

if it was me and I had some extra money id get some hiper beadlocks with BLUE rings :o . woud look badass then

I would like to get beadlocks but i dont have the money and i unfortunately dont get to ride as much as i would like to so it would be pointless for me. If it gets messed up ill just respray, not a show quad by any means haha.

Spray painting the rims doesnt come off that easily, you have to do the right prep work and its fine.

but blue? i dunno...lol.

Yea i want something different lol, i am in the process of getting new tires for the rear also so im thinking it would be easier to just paint the rear with no tires on instead of taping and covering up the tires, i will have to wrap the fronts since those are already newer tires. I will post pics of the before and after if anyones interested. Also i know its off topic but does anyone know of any cheap tires? I ride everything except sand, mostly just trail with some mud and some pavement. I found some artrax at motosport.com for $50 a piece but there 2-ply i believe so im not sure they will hold up on trails. Also saw some tires for like $60 at denniskirk.com. If anyone knows a tire that is cheaper and decent that would be great even if its a no-name brand. Thanks everyone.

You can find the GBC race Rex tires pretty cheap I would say that they are the best XC tires and the same as the rzr 2.. Deft don't wanna go 2 ply on the trails dude

Yea i looked into those tires, more than i can spend unfortunatly, i guess the tires for 60 at denniskirk is best option, thanks for the suggestion

dont know if they are still on sale, but on motosport.com they had dunlops on sale for like $40 per rear tire. Good tires too i ran them for a long time on my 300ex and on my 416 and they always hooked up great, very little sidebite so you can slide, but enough to keep you cooking through deep ruts.

Idk which dunlops they were since they insist on using random 3 digit numbers to label their tires but they are the ones that come stock on a kfx450.

Just looked and no theyre not on sale anymore, i looked more into the artrax tire and they are 4 ply and $50, there 20x11-9, the smaller tire like for a blaster stock size or whatever is 2 ply, so i figure ill prolly order those, even tho i ride most trail there is alot of open field and wide trails so i still want to throw the rear end out a bit ;)

I dont know where you are located at.. and i dont know if you know what GNCC is, but if there is a GNCC race somewhat close to your house, its worth it to just wait and buy a set of mazxxis razr's off a pro. They usually have 1 race on them (still like brand new) and like $20 a piece.

Then you can buy like 6 tires or however many, bring them back home, and sell your buddies sets of good rear tires for $40 a piece. Easy money maker. ATV tires hold their valve as long as they are in good shape

No i never heard of it, just looked up there 2012 schedule and no there no where near me, wish it was since you can get good deals on tires and it looks cool to go watch, thanks tho for the suggestion

if you paint them blue it will look so goofy and just wont be right, black will keep people from laughing. only way you get color is with b-locks.
