Haha judging by your sig, you have a pretty nice setup as is.. I don't think there's THAAAT much to gain by going up 2 bores (3?). You've already got high compression that will probably outrun a 10:1 416. :macho

Enjoy it until it's time to break the piggy bank on a rebuild again, lol. But you also have eveyhting else pretty much, all you'd need is the piston/bore/gasket when that time does arise.

Thanks haha and yeah, atleast all i need is the bore setup since i did all that to the ol 400 already but it isn't going to be awhile. I got that build and rebuilt the topend back in july-august.

Honestly, i rather start doing cosmetics now. Like, 450r shocks, tusk axle, cheap but good/durable a arms, chrome some pieces, ect. I REALLY want to powdercoat the frame and a few more pieces, but im not sure what color would look killer with my yellow plastics.

Another thing is i would love to trim the plastics just a bit. I don't want to go over-bore on it because i don't want the mud slinging up on me, but i really want it sharper-looking.

Overall, i think that a arms, axle, shocks is Way more expensive than performance. That's why i don't have too much cosmetics/stability stuff done to it.

Money issues smh. :ermm:

Suspension before cosmetics :)

Sounds like you have a good plan though.

Yep that's what I'm plannin. When i get about 200 bucks, I'm going to look for a pair of 450r shocks since i can't afford Elka's or anything like that. I really need a rear skid plate first though. Then i might look for a cheap bumper. :p

Would a black or gray powdercoat look better with the yellow plastic? And what would a price range be?

Your stock studs may of stretched over the years from heat...if you going to have to tear down an replace the gaskest you might as well get some GT Heavy Duty studs so it doesn't happen again. Sounds like you did the best bang for the buck on that EX!!

Doug Eichner ran a Red an Yellow 400EX for Duncan...still one of the best if not the best looking EX I ever saw.

It was around 48.00 over a decade ago...my nephew had it done where he worked, got a deal cause he worked there. My last EX frame an swingarm got done in Ft. Wayne, IN about 5 yrs. ago for around 190.00...its ORANGE to go with the KTM motor an white plastic.

That would sound like a good deal, if you had yet to hear that I only spent $155 to get the frame and all my motor mounts, fender brackets and everything else done in color and then clear over it. Now THAT'S a good deal.
