So my 158 was crazy rich and my 155 finally came in, swaped it out, and popped in a fresh plug. Fired it up, let it idel till it was warm then ripped around for 5 minutes or so. After I pulled the plug out it looked like this, now from what I can tell it's too rich, but what's with no carbon build-up on the tip of the electrode?

What your seeing on the plug is from the pilot jet and the needle jet, what your looking at has nothing to do with the main jet.

From 158-155 isnt anything at all 1 or 2 incriments is almost meaningless to even do.

your looking at the totally wrong part of the plug.

Ride it for about 30 mins, hitting different RPM's and then see what it looks like. There is a plug chart floating around this site somewhere.

Well I'll go ride it for a bit more, and jondoe how do you tell that's from the pilot and needle, it's not like I was just riding low RPMs I was givin er the whole ride.

I bet 50$ that if you turn in your a/f screw that color will lighten up.

Just guessing but you would have to be above 1/2 throttle the whole time for the main jet to be doing its job.

Well Cody was right on this one, went out and ripped for an hour or so doing trail ridin, road running, jumpin and it lightened way up! It accually might be just a tad on the lean side now, and powerbomb like I said there it was above half throttle most of the 5 minute ride but it was also ideling with the choke on for a few minutes first.

when your on the gas all the color burns off the plug, which is why when anyone does a actual plug chop it still is white as can be.

When your not at WOT your only running off the pilot jet and needle, if you just ride it around and hit a few RPMs then idle to a stop and kill it, it leaves carbon build up on the plug.

Which is exactly what you have!
