Well I rode my 06 all last season basically stock with just a k&N and a slip on and jetted. I decided while Ive got time this winter I want to add some more performace rather than just buying a 450 (like my reverse)

Ive got about a $1500 budget, so far Ive spent around 1k

Anything else I should add to this list:
440 top end kit (Wiseco piston, 89mm cylinder, cometic gasket kit)
GT headstuds
CRF450 Chain
Stage 2 Hotcam
Aluminum oversided Oil Tank

I also bought:
Tusk nerf's with heal guards and an aluminum battery box, but that doesnt have anything to do with performance... I also need to get a set of rear tires, so that puts me up to around 1200. Ive got around $300 left to work with

I thought about doing an electric fan for the oil cooler.
Anything im missing for a solid setup?

The spal fan is supposed to be the best cooling device.. I wanna get one but looks like a Pita to me lol.. I just rebuilt mine and I bought a spark rev box.. Wanted to find out for myself if it made a difference..

It's sat for a few months thus I forgot till today when I went to look it over, just to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything, that I broke an upper a-arm last season at some point.. So I think its time for an aftermarket set

FCR or 04-05 carb should compliment that 440/Stg2 nicely.

Good news, I sold some auto parts on ebay that Ive had sitting around, so ive some more dollars sitting in my paypal that I wouldnt mind putting towards my quad.

Im thinking about doing some carb swapping as stated above, I would also like a suggestion on bars. Mine came with rethal dirt bike bars when I got it. Im 6'2" and they are just too short.

And, I was looking at a trail tech vapor to track things like mph and distance, would one of these also be good for monitoring my oil-temps?

Either protaper SE mid or hi (hi is good but a bit too much pullback towards ya imho-I have the hi) or renthal honda/zuki, kawi bend.

I'm 6'3 and have pro taper mid.. It's feels great to get tusk risers like a run or a longer stem

I'm 6' 2'' with stock length stem an Renthal high bend motorcross bars, mine fits great....maybe I got longer arms??? Depends what riding your doing but I always thought a good pair of shocks up front were a must.
Consider doing a 416 an save on the 440 for $ elsewhere. I also really liked putting a 1.25" swingarm on an redoing the back shock, it just feels an rides so much better I almost don't even like riding a stock swingarm EX anymore.

The tusk bar risers actually work nice but you can feel a lil flex in them cause of them cause of the extra length. And yeah I upgraded to 450r shocks and they work great. Haven't rebuilt them because weighing 250lbs.. I don't think they need it lol

Once you do get them rebuilt, you'll wish you did MONTHS sooner.

It's link going from stock 400 shock to stock 450 shocks.. Which is a big improvement, don't get me wrong (thats what my ex has) but there's a reason guys on 450's ditch the stockers of have them rebuilt.. A difference that you'd have to feel to beleive.

The FCR carbs come on the 06+ Honda 450R and the 04+ Yamaha YFZ450.

You will need an adapter for the Honda carb (zrpilot on here makes and sells them, I think ) and the YFZ carb supposedly bolts right up.

I myself have a Sudco 40mm FCR.

You will also need to grab a new throttle cable from an 06+ Honda 450R.

I tapped my own head for studs. With a bottoming tap I was able to get the studs to the proper depth

My first time porting anything, pretty strait forward. Just smooth out the casting marks, give the air a strait path to take and polish it up. I just cleaned up the exhaust side with the dremel and some sandpaper wheels

Is it just me or does your back end sit up really high? It could just be the pic, but have you ever set the sag on it? Looks good though, needs some nerfs.

It's got 22s in the rear, and I've got a set of tusk nerfs, UPS brought them yesterday
