Craigslist warning

Just giving everybody a warning. My borther and dad went to look at a laptop on craigslist today. They couldn't agree on a price so my brother starts getting back in the truck and the dude stuck a .357 to my brothers head, took the $500 and left. BE CAREFUL who you meet and where you meet. This could have gone very bad. Thanks God it didn't.

exactly the reason a glock is a standard tool for any cl deal. not sayin it would have helped in this situation but i dont want this to happen and not having the option. glad to hear everone made it out ok.

for one, is terre haute....did you expect less?

two, thats why you dont buy a computer off of craigslist....if somone is willing to sell a computer, that may contain kiddy porn, or their own personal info so that in the future they can get ripped off, then they're probably really hurting for cash, and will do anything to get it..


i dont use craigs list, and dont honestly feel bad for anyone who gets ripped off buying or selling on there....

its a good thing that your brother and father are ok, and they're lucky...

Thats where stuff gets sketchy. I only go and look at quads and tractors. I buy phones and ipods and resell them on craigslist but its always been a legit deal and i make them come to my house i wont meet them anywhere. My dads always here when i do it to

Dont judge a town based on a stupid crime. This happens all the time in Chicago and stuff and no one thinks anything about it, just because its so common. This is a rare occasion around here.

Me and Born have both done ALOT of wheeling and dealing and neither of us have ever had any problems, until now of course.

We both live on the Very South end of town, like out in the country (about 4 houses apart) and i dont even lock the doors on my garage or house or anything, keys are in the vehicals.. Heck i have left my quad outside multiple times with no issues, but my neighbors and I all look out for eachother.

Now the North end of town.... ehhhh..

I never gave an address on my house or anything. Terre Haute is a big city. The only 2 people on this forum that know where i live are b0rn, and chip.

i always meet people in public. busy commuter lot, walmart parking lot etc... sounds sketchy on my part but random a-holes on CL arent going to know where i live.

if I am buying we usually meet in a public place like the local MX track (if it has anything to do with quads).... or a walmart parking lot


I have bought and sold a lot on craigslist and never had a problem.
