Curious of how to tell the width of t pin a arms. And the difference a narrow chassis makes etc. +1 on narrow vs. stock frame. I’m sure there is a laeger guru on the forum.

A narrow chassis is about 2" narrower than stock (1" on each side). I always measure the bottom arm from pivot center to lower ball (or heim) joint center. Rough idea:

14" = stock
15" = +1"
16" = +2

If that's the case.....would these be +2&1/2's

Or +3's ?

I bought them as Plus 3's

:devil:

Langbolt, just run your tape along the bottom of one of the arms as pictured, and your reading should be 17". Here's how my +1 arms measured:

Is there difference in LT and ST? I would think not due to the diffence should be the shock mount but in the 2nd picture those are ST and about as exact at 15 as you can get. Im coming up with 17.5 with the arms off the bike on a LT set. I get the half inch just like Langbolt on the LT arms.I measure another set off the bike LT as well and they are 16.5 yet both had the same lenth tie rods 14.5 when on the bikes. The 16.5 had the heims all the way in the 17.5 were adjusted out. I had a tie rod cut length from Scott at LAE saying the +0 should measure 11 5/8 add an inch per +1. At 14.5 measure of the tie rods I would think that they would be +3 but they are 2 different length arms running the same length tie rods and are exactly 1 inch different in length. Going by the mentioned measurements by addictedtomud I could be +3 and +2 if rounded down or +4 and +3 if rounded up. By Scott at Laeger chart based on tie rods I could be +3 on both which cant be. My guess is that you could use either tie rod (which was done) or maybe a smaller cut one for the smaller a arms with more adjustabilty. I have a few others sets I may have to measure now just out of curiosity, one set is ST so it should be interesting.

My method has only been used on ST arms, I don't know what's up with the 1/2" difference on the LTs. Anybody out there have a set of LT arms that they can measure? They would have to have been purchased new so that you know for sure what length they were sold as ...
