So my story is.

I bought my 2002 400ex back in June. Everything was perfect on it but a minor volve cover leak. So I replaced the handle bars becasue I had a little roll over. Got a new bumper, then got a curtis sparks exhaust. December rolls around and I can tell I am buring a lot more oil than normal. I go on a little trip out in indiana and by the end of the day my motor burnt up all the oil in the oil resovior. not good!

The tear down started about 3 weeks ago. Here are all my pics that I have.

Oil ring was bad, also valve seals. which felt like rocks.

I was able to keep stock size piston. I purchased a wiseco 11:1 kit. Got everything together and found out my clutch is bad now. So that sucks haha. I am waiting for my tusk clutch kit. I did get my 450r shocks in the mail!

Looks awesome!

You will be very pleased with the 11:1

Very noticeable power gain, but yet its still very smooth.

Head looks awesome!

I would like to know what chemicals they use to get them to look like new again.

Very nice though! :D

The guy took everything out of the head. Then put it through some acid bath. I couldnt beleive how amazing it looked!

Thanks guys, I got my clutch in the other day. Working a little to much, So when i get a few days off I will be putting it in! Also I got to adjust my valves again. gotta love them valves adjustments lol

Id try a 165 first. You didnt overbore, just upped compression. If Im at 426 and a 172 then a 165 should be rather close.

Ok I will try that. Its been running lean I am guessing because my header glows after idling for awhile. On the honda forum I am on one guy said I should do a 180 since I have the curtis sparks exhaust. I wanna keep my lid on my filter though
