i took my linkage off and it needs new bearings how do i get those suckers out????

You need two sockets and a vise.

Use a socket that is large enough for the new bearing to fit inside it.
The other socket needs to be as close as possible to the oustide diameter of the new bearing, but not larger. It can be a couple thousandths smaller than the O.D. If it is too small it will jam in there, and cause severe problems.

Place the socket against the linkage piece so the old bearing will go into the open end when you use the smaller socket to press out the bearing with the vise. If you have a hydraulic press, that is good to, but you don't need that much power, a 6" vise should do it easily.


Another tip here. When you parts wash your linkage bearings, dont use an air compressor to blow them out when you are done. I did that, and blew the needle bearings out all over my driveway. The funny thing is, after I did the first one, I was like, "Crap, I better be careful" then proceeded to blast the needles out of a second one.
