Stock frame on the track

Will a stock frame with gussets be reliable enough to race on an mx track or do I absolutely need an aftermarket frame?

It will be just fine unless you are going to be a hardcore racer every weekend 40 weeks out of the year. Just be sure to gussett it.

I raced a stock frame for a couple years every weekend, it was gusseted and it is still in great shape. It was my own gusset kit, but if it were me I would get pumashine's kit and get it tigged on. Tig welding is so much better than wire. There is just a few extra gussets that I had done compared to the kit you can buy.

I also race motocross successfully with a stock frame gusseted. I think having suspension set up correctly has more to do with it than anything. I think you will be fine. Just make sure you have the normal cracking places gusseted.
