pep rear shock cover opinions

My rear pep always makes a creaking sound after I get done riding so I have to clean it every ride, but I was wondering if anyone who has used this cover had any problems with heat, or if they dont notice anything or recommend it for protection of the shock, even though not much dirt gets back there I would like to protect it and just wanted some opinions from people.

its going to get a lot hotter. Mine does the same sometimes and I prefer that over servicing it more often.
