Last fall our family bought a.DRR 2006 singal A arm 50cc quad for our youngest son. Runs great and he loves it, but the darn thing is stiff. I understand why but Im wanting to soften it up some with out softening my check book. We do normale riding. Might try cross country once and the county fair tt race.
Wanting to know what kind of shocks to look for. He's only 50lbs and I dont want to buy new. Is a used set the way to go or try to find a new stock set?

Thanks for the help. Shawn

i would save my money and wait , you may find a quad set up with dual a arms and good shocks . i just sold a drr 70 2009 with elkas durable axle penington pvl and other goodies on it for 1700. .. im sure you could find a quad aruond 1500. with a good set up . when your child gets older he will go faster and jump higher. in the long run you will save money

You would be surprised of how many DRRs are around you. In the summer on Saturdays there could be 10 to 20 of them on the gate at Cedar Rapids and the cross country stuff is pretty big in Iowa too. Keep a watch out and there are a lot of good deals. In May there will be a couple hundred of them in Walnut Il racing.

What is there? Im interested in these things, there just high priced. I agree that you can find used ones but didnt know that CR had that many. I'll have to get somemore info for there and take the boys up. Momma already said NO mx stuff. Lol but we'll go watch.. Thank you for the info.

I know there is TT tracks in Sioux Fall,SD. And in Taylorville,Il. At the track in Sioux Falls they are having an Extreme Dirt Track National in June on the 28-30th.

Thank you Steve, I'll look into those also. I can from the go kart world. My oldest son did that. I've worked on learning those, but I love the challenge of something new. Im going to replace the spring in the clutch so that will be my first thing.
Thank you to everyone and their input.

Hey while I have everybodys attension I have another question.
I got some extra front and rear gears, I would like to on the 19 front and either 28 or 32 rear .
Im getting ready to order a new clutch spring, what rpm should I get? It has 1000 rpm on it now and my 46lb son takes off good but wondering if that would good for a 19 front.

Thank you

Id go with the 19/32 the 28 might be a little hard to pull.

Thanks guys. Do I keep the 1000 rpm spring or better yet, how do you know what rpm you want? He's only 45/50 lbs.

I never had any luck with the 1000. I ran a red Molossi most of the time. Bassani might have a little different opinion on the spring choice.
