Hey guys

I recently had my front sprocket round off the splines of the it sits on for the shaft coming out of the motor.

I just got done replacing the shaft and put a new sprocket on and it seems like there is alot of movement from left to right where the sprocket sits on the shaft. I am able to slide the sprocket back and forth on the shaft even with the retaining washer is installed. Is this normal? I am wanting to prevent this from happening again.

The shaft that I rounded had the failure happen at the very end of the shaft and the edge of the sprocket splines almost as if the sprocket had slid to the edge of the shaft and was barley sitting on the splines.

Any advice to what I have going on would be great! I want to keep this from happening again. Thanks!

Are you using the correct washer?

I believe so but I just bought the r so anything could be on it. The washer has the words "outside" on it.

You can put front sprockets on backwards. And some companies include a washer to space it out correctly. Are you missing something like that?

That is the correct washer for it then. Still could be missing a spacer/washer for the back side if the sprocket does not have one built in it. Hope this makes sense.

It is a brand new sprocket That I took out of the package. I will see if I can mount up the old sprocket. To see what kind of side motion it has.

Do you have the collar that goes behind the sprocket and in between the shaft and the seal installed?

I was looking at the parts break down of it and saw that collar but I assumed it was behind the seal in the motor. If there is a spacer between the sprocket and the case then I am def missing that part.

Yes there is a spacer that goes between the sprocket and the case. There is a little o ring that goes on the end of the spacer also that you will need.
