2005 Clear tube from fan?

Ok so my fan hasn't been working on my 450r lately. It had a toggle switch that the PO installed, it broke off in the on position so I ripped it all out one day. Now I am putting a new switch in. I noticed that the clear tube from the fan motor is hooked up on the fan side but it doesn't hook up to anything? Is it supposed to?

It goes to a small nipple on the upper frame rail, behind the stem clamp. You may have to take the tank off to get to it.

What is the purpose of that hose?

To allow moisture to evaporate that collect in the fan.
