Head studs

Ok the 400 is getting rebuilt in a week with a new 11:1 piston stage 2 hotcam should i get heavy duty head studs? :confused:

i deff would for insurance.

Headstuds are one of those things that some guys run stock with a 440 kit and they are fine and some guys run stock ones on 416's and they pull out.

I would deff reccomend them

Ok its stock bore so should i still get them with the extra compresion i dont want anything going during a race.

Its 100 dollar insurance policy.

What happens is the studs ont he exhaust side can heat up b/c ithe engine is aircooled, this happens it stresses them and your SOL then.

The GTT studs have better threads and if you get them installed they use a special roll formed tap to do it which is stronger as well

Ive had my engine apart about 5s now for various things and never had a stud go since I had them installed.
