Long Story short, i spun the rotor yesterday. What all will i need to replace? The axle and brake hub?

What do you mean by spun the rotor? The hub spun on the axle?

^ sadly, yes it did :(

I'd say whichever one is made of the softer material will be stripped. The other should be ok, but I would just check the splines really well. If I had to guess, the hub stripped. I admit, though, this is the first I've heard of the brake hub stripping. The sprocket hub is usually the one to strip.

yeah :( But i looked at the spines on the axle, and they're shot. But i CAN NOT get both of my wheel hub nuts off. Like the nuts that hold the hubs on, off. I pb blasted it, and heated it up. NO BUDGE. So what do i do about my problem?

27mm socket and an impact gun. they also have cotter pins in them.

Or a 27mm socket and a 6ft pipe... That's what I do

Heat that ***** up to cherry red and hit it with an impact. If that do work use a big breaker bar. Make sure you have someone holding the socket on the nut if you do try the breaker bar method, so you don't round the edges off.

Tonight im gonna try and take it off again. but anyhow, all ill need is just a rotor hub and an axle correct?

Wish i would have known man, i just sold all my 400ex parts, i had both i would have sold you for $40 + shipping..

There is a swap meet near my house the 19th, if you dont have an axle by then let me know, i can hook you up probably.

Dang cody, but um yeah. The impact and heat idea didnt work :( so looks like shes getting the tourch!

You're just gunna cut the end of the axle off? That's awesome.

^Considering the spines for the rotor hub are stripped i mise well. I dont have much to lose

Good point, but at the same time you could take a dremel and cut the nut off the end.

BUT it may be more time + frustration then its worth.

sounds like if you gonna torch the axle because the nuts wont back off, then you better add hubs and new castle nuts to your parts list!

Ok, well today i went a new route. i took a grinder with a cutting disk, and cut right where the hub meets the axle. There forth, i saved my hubs. Anddd I saved the nuts beacuse when i completly cut through the axle, the threads where still inside the hub. So i beat the threads through the hub enough so that i could unscrew the nuts. So all in all im happy with the outcome! Now all i need to do is buy a New Tusk axle and a new rotor hub and ill be set :)

Good job. I didn't even think about doing it that way.

Have you looked into the G Force axles? I know that they're the same price as the tusks and may be known a little better? But hey the tusk might be better! Lol

Its actually the same axle, for whatever reason rocky mtn decided to sell them as both tusk and g-force.

I had one, worked well for me but was to wide for where I ride.

That's weird.. And actually kinda dumb but whatever hahaha. It was too wide even if the spacers are outside? Pretty sure mine goes to stock length

Nah if you look at it (least the older one I had) the splines for the hubs go about 90% of the way but it stops and you need to put the 1/4 thick spacer, then the hub then the other spacer if you want it less wide.

I actually ran the wheels flipped inside with the spacers set the narrowest. The wheels flipped in or out didnt matter the trails were still a bit too narrow in spots.

I see lol. Trails must be really narrow man. That's the fun stuff though lol

Depends on the spot im at but yea it can be. I rather be able to ride than have to worry about choosing my lines carefully when Im flying thru in the woods lol.

GNCC tracks are usually 50" or less as well so Im not that far off.

Hahaha exactly. Where I ride is everything, you can go from the tightest of trails to larger trails to wide open fields and gas lines. I usually run +2 up front a little narrower in the back or + 2 in the back

Exactly. Where I ride it can go from tight woods, to dunes, to desert to old railroad track beds, to open fields, etc.

It's all what you get yourself used to I guess. I feel very stable with +2 all around
