Thought I would share a few pics of our 250X build. Had to keep it under 250cc for one of the series we race but Im pretty sure she'll still run with the 300ex's all said and done.

Here it is right after we got it. We added Elka's up front and a bumper at the time.

We then switched over to the 2007+ 300ex plastic

Now its time for a full rebuild and upgrade! Motor was bone stock to this point except for a pipe.

Got alot done over the weekend, almost got a roller now, just waiting for a few odds and ends...

I cut a notch out in the rear plastic for the kicker

Looking good! We are finishing up a frame up build on my brothers XC 07 300ex this week! I will have a thread about it in the next couple of days! Season will be here before we know it!

I should have a roller by the weekend, but waiting for motor work.... It always seems to be down to the wire before the season opener, and chit... I thought I started early enough this year...

Is the frame exactly like the 300ex frame? Does anyone make aftermarket MX stuff for this 250?

Rocky, the TRX250X and 300ex are completely the same, only diff is the 250x has a different crank (shorter stroke) & she kick start. The 250X has a bit more compression than the 300ex out of the factory. The 250's & 300's run all day neck and neck stock VS. stock. All upgrades for 300EX fit the TRX250X except crank & CDI box. Any yes, the frames are identical geometry, just no battery box provisions

did you have any trouble getting the 2007+ 300ex plastic mounted? i have an older 300ex and would like to update the plastic. any advice you can give would be great!!

Nope, had to improvise a little... The 07+ tank cover is bolted to the side of the frame on the newer frames, however, the older frames do not have those mounts. I didnt realize it till after powdercoat so I just put a push clip through the hole.

You will need the front fender mount (above upper shock mount) and all of the plastic, including tank cover.

Finally got ours done and she raced it on sunday. Still need a little jetting refinement but not too shabby I must say. I'll get some more pics up soon

KIDS ON QUADS, has long travel a arms, swingarm, and shock relocator bracket. they also have shock packages to go with them. kidsonquads.com
