is it worth the $ and effort to put a +2 axle on w/ stock a arms?

I don't think it looks that bad. I always wanted to get the money together to get one of those tusk axles of rockymountain.
It's rideable, but a wider rear end will cause the front end to push in the corners. The optimum width for the rear is slightly narrower than the front.

ok, that's what i was thinking. i'll hold off until i can find a good deal on +2 a arms. thanks for the info
I had one, you could set it to +2 or +4 iirc. While not unridable with the stock front, it made it much harder due to the push scro describes.
Id do the front before the rear any day.

I ran a +4 axle in the rear with stock arms for last 3 or 4 years. I've had to problems with, but I don't ride groomed race tracks, so I couldn't really tell you how bad it pushed in the corners. I always rode on sand or really packed dirt with tall berms in the corners, so I would just steer in really hard, then kick the *** end out, counter-steer and slide through the corner on the tracks I raced on.
