Biger front=taller
shorter front=lower

Big rear=lower
Small rear=taller

if you want more torque go down on your front sprocket or up in the rear. 1 tooth in the front does more than 1 tooth in the rear. if you want really low gearing one down in front and 1 up in the back. if you want high gearing (more top speed) you should have more or stock in the front and less in the rear.
my preference is a 14-37 on my 440ex.
