Looking at picking up a Laeger quad, but the owner doesn't know exactly what year the motor is. The cases must have been bead blasted, as the serial numbers aren't legible any longer. Is there any other way to tell what year it is? I know it's a trx based upon the stamp on the case of "TB06E-". Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

To Identify the Cases:

Look at the front.....this is an '86-87 motor

The older i get, the more i think i used to know something. That being said, I THINK 86, and 87 motors used to have a bridge in the intake, and i read somewhere in here once that there were markings on the outside of the cylinders also to seperate yrs. See if you can get Neil to chime in here.

You'd have to remove the reed block to see the intake.

:D

'86 wasn't bridged

'87-89 has the vertical bridges
