ok, i changed the pilot jet in my 400ex carb. when i looked for the fuel or air screw, i found that there isnt a screw head in there! Is that D shaped thing a head that i need a special tool for or is it something that has to be drilled out or pried off? i tried to pry it with a small screwdriver but nothing happened.
So, what am i supposed to do here?

I'd say that Honda has a special little tool you can get.

I found the same thing with my 05 400ex but before i had to adjust it i got a 450r carb so i'm not even using that one anymore but i'm guessing a tool from honda is needed.

Now i just need to get a tool to put it in! LOL
Remove the stupid screw, go to honda and buy a older one 99-04 or cut a slot in it with a dremel.

Get a plastic pen, take out the ink, heat it up with a lighter, while its still melty press it onto the D shape of the screw, wait til it cools, pull straight off, now you have a make-shift tool.
Its not perfect but it'll do in a pinch.
I just took it out and cut a notch to use a flat screw driver.

I took mine out with a small set of needle nose pliers and replaced it with this:http://worksconnection.com/details.php?id=568 a lot easier to adjust with it running(which is the correct way)

Get the screw out and cut a slot in it with a dremmel tool. I have had to do that with a CRF50 and a CRF230L. To get the D shaped srew out I used a 22 shell casing and flattened one side to look like a D and played with the shape of the casing until I was able to screw it out.

Does anyone know where i left my d-shaped bit? Either of them? How bad is that, i had two and can't find either of them. This is so not like me to lose something.
