Tuesday night, my Soldier son surprised me knocking at the back door coming from Afghanistan. We quickly made plans to take him north to ride the ORV Route trail since the ice on the lakes has not been safe.
I don't recomend riding on sled trails. The trail we rode is about the only "ORV route trail" in the state, around 18 miles long, and is stil legal for us quad guys. It just happens to be shared with snowmobile route #6 from the Denton area. However, I wouldn't recommend riding it this time of year. The snowmobilers claim it for themselves and I am sure we didn't make any friends up there.
There was more snow up there than I had anticipated and I should have left my studed tires on. I could have also used the skiis up there too. Oh well. at least we got to take Nick riding. We had a great time riding together again.
