wanting to put a clutch perch with hotstart on and get rid of the start switch on my 05 kicker. what are you guys using? thinking of a crf 450 perch with hotstart, but wondering if the trx 450r hotstart cable will still work. or if i need the crf hotstart cable. dont want to spend $150 on an expensive setup.

Any lever with a hotstart will work and the ASV hotstart cable will work. The stock cable can be made to work with some creative shim work... I suggest dropping the 15 or so dollars on the ASV cable.

And... I used an MSR perch with hotstart that worked well and wasn't to expensive. I like the ASV lever I have now better but obviously more expensive.

i thought any perch would work, so ASV cable for the 450r is the cable to use, no matter what perch i use. i was kind of leaning towards the moose perch for the money, just didnt know what cable to get.

Any perch with hotstart will work (I said lever in the first post). I know for sure the ASV cable works with the MSR and ASV hotstart. I'm pretty confedent that it will work with the moose perch too but I have never uses that one so I can't say for sure. The problem with the stock cable is the black casing is to short for the aftermarket hotstarts. You end up with too much slack in the cable.

Will the ASV cable work for the CRF prech and lever?

I beleive the ASV cable is the same as he CRF cable except for the end on the carb so I would assume yes. The cable has an adjustment in the casing unlike the stock TRX one. Shoot ASV an email and ask so you know for sure.
