Hi, I recently got a 2012 YFZ450, and was wondering do the exhausts from the older YFZ's work? I havn't come across an exhaust for 12 yet.

I believe everything exhaust wise should bolt right up. The only difference between the 2012 and older models is the shocks and the carb, pretty much. I had a Curtis Sparks pipe that I liked alot on my old YFZ. Might want to just ask whatever company you want to buy a pipe from to be sure....

It will bolt up. Performance gains may or may not be what you expect because the motors are so much different. Plus a very different carb. I'd call HMF or whoever and start asking questions.

Props for buying a standard and not a R!

I thought the standard fitted my riding style better.

Standard carb version suppose to have more low and midrange, and not as wide.

Different cam grind and ignition timing on the carb model, and steel valves compared to titanium on the R.

Since you guys are talking about different motors, what's the difference between the 450r and 450 motor wise? I know the r has efi but what else is different?

Standard to Standard: Cam, Timing, Ignition Curve, Valves are all different. These motors are based off the WR450.

Standard to R/X: Pretty much everything. Including the big thing, EFI. Yamaha based this motor off the YZF450, I am pretty sure but not 100%.

BTW, the 04-09 standard all had Titanium valves. The R/X's do too.
