second gear issues!!!

Hi everyone,
I have a 2001 400ex and I am having some issues with my second gear. I wrecked it hard one day and since then second gear has been slipping and skipping in and out of gear, it wont engage. I tore it apart twice, once to replace the shift fork, and another to replace the gears, both with no result, it still does the same thing. Some people think it might be the star shift detent being loose or messed up which causes the shift drum to move around and cause this. Does anyone have any suggestions, maybe have the same issue I am having??

Your manual should say..."Transmission jumps out of gear"

1. Worn gear dogs or dog holes.
2. Worn shift drumguide grooves.
3. Worn shift fork guide pin.
4. Worn gear shifter groove.
5. Bent shift fork shaft.
